Lip Sync exercise

To prepare for the lip sync exercise, we got told the name of the song we were going to be filming/performing to, which was 'Shape of You' by Ed Sheeran. I already knew the words to the song so I was very prepared to perform to it. We went into the studio and there were 3 set ups: a blue set, a white screen with strip lights and a green screen with a sofa.

Everyone took a turn at filming and performing and we learnt how to use a tracking dolly for one of the scenes in the music video:

We used all types of camera angles, tilted ones, mid shots and long shots. I learned that you have to keep a really steady hand when being pushed on the dolly while filming someone. Tracking a person while they are moving is a very hard task. Not many mistakes were made except the fact that we didn't do enough close up shots, so there wasn't enough variation in the video besides mid/long shots.

While in the suite editing, Matt told us an easy, effective way to cut the video together. At the beginning of each video, we panned from a starting number such as 00:59:58:20 with a beginning clip already put in the edit. Otherwise, there was a beep, base beat and a snare. We usually linked up the snare sound with the video because it is the most distinct one to edit with. Then from there we chose our favourite videos and put them all onto the timeline.

Here is the final product:
