Doing Hair & Makeup on the Shoot Day

This was at midday when we were touching up the girls makeup as it had slowly slid off during the shoot, but we did not do them up too much, as we wanted continuity and for their appearance not to change drastically halfway through the shoot.

For eye makeup, bruises and scuffs, we used my Makeup Revolution Ultimate Eyeshadow Palette. It is a shimmery palette so was shiny on the shoot, but made the effect of their faces being oily and not washed, which was an upside. We provided all of the makeup used on the shoot.

Shoot Day Part 2

For a daylight effect, we got a studio light and covered it with blue filter to make the light seem more realistic into the container.

The models were well made up with bad, smudged makeup and we told them to scruff up their hair to look less pristine.

Shoot Day

On the 11th of January we shot our thriller. It went really smoothly and we got all the shots we needed. Everyone was on time/early except one actress who came 20 minutes late. We used a Black Magic Mini URSA to film our thriller with a 4k lens.

Shooting schedule

We have had the confirmation of the shipping container and our shooting date is the 11th of January 2017.

We are planning to start filming at around 10:45am and are hoping to be finished by 4pm, with an hour lunch break at 12:30.

Organising set design/props

Our group has collected recycling throughout the Christmas holidays, therefore leaving us with many empty water bottles and wrappers.
The group has decided that I will be the one who brings in the blankets and pillows for the ground of the container, so I will bring a big plaid blanket and a couple of small, grimy pillows.
We will be scattering these props around the container to show a messy area and showing that the area has been lived in.
On the day we will be helping clear out the container and remove all unnecessary items from it to create a good set.

Organising costumes/makeup

I will be bringing in a 144 colour eyeshadow which has all the colours we need for bruises and dirt marks.

We have told the actors to bring in their own clothes for the shoot, but I will also be providing spare clothes just in case they don't provide what we want for the shoot.

We have specifically asked the girls to bring in fish net tights to emphasise that they are in the situation of slavery.

Organising actors

Today we decided timings on when the actors are needed:

All four girls are coming at 10am on the 11th of January, to get their hair, costumes and makeup done for filming to start at 10:45.

Mike (the sex trafficker) is due to come at 11am for the shot of him dragging the first victim out by the hair.

After we've finished filming all the scenes, we will let the actors go and then record extra sounds inside the container, just for reassurance in case we don't have loud enough sounds in the already existing clips.

Denis and Said (Russian voices) are coming at 3:15pm to have their voices recorded.
